ABSTRACT

The influence of occlusion on natural actions of the craniomandibular system in terms of masticatory muscle activity, function of temporomandibular joints, and mandibular movements as a whole is one of the important research topics of recent publication. The interaction between occlusion, muscles of mastication and temporomandibular joints is based on communication between form and function. The recent investigations about this subject has been reviewed in this article.
