ABSTRACT

In this study; the results obtained by means of extraction of upper premolars as well as extraction of both upper and lower premolars while fixed appliances are used are evaluated. 18 patients having both skeletal class 2 and Angle class II, 1 malocclusions are examined. The extraction of upper first premolars was elected for 9 of the patients, alternatively for the remaning 9, the extraction of both upper and lower first premolars was decided, while both groups were treated by fixed appliances. 10 angular and 10 linear measurements were made on the collected lateral cephalometric films and results were discussed by biometrical methods.
