ABSTRACT

The purpose of our study is to examine the effects in the cases with Class II, Division 1 malocclusion and to discuss the importance of this technique in orthodontic treatment. In our study, 16 angular and 16 linear measurments were made on the initial and the final radiogram pairs in 40 cases, which 20 of them were treatment and the other 20 were control group with Class II, Division 1 malocclusion. At the end of the treatment with the combination of maxillary splint and high-pull headgear, the retardation of maxillary development, the retraction of maxillary teeth, the minimal influence of mandible and mandibuler teeth and the attaintment of Angle Class 1 molar relationship was observed.
