ABSTRACT

In this article, the use of En-Masse appliance in distalization of upper premolars, is presented. In dental arch, the first permanant molars effected by caries or periodontal diseases, may show up with the loss of stability. In the indication of extraction treatments, orthodontists may intend to extract the first molars because of their unpredictable reaction to orthodontic forces. Thus, En-Masse appliance turns out to be a solution and becomes useful in such type of treatment for it abbreviates the duration of the orthodontic treatment. In this study, the effects of En-Masse appliance on dentofacial system is examined.
