ABSTRACT

The purpose of this report was to evaluate the dentofacial effects of different amounts of vertical activations with functional appliance therapy in Class II malocclusions. The first group consisted of 10 patients treated with the Harvold activator and the second of 10 patients treated with Andresen appliance. The control group included 10 untreated patients. SNB, Xİ-Pg, maxillo-mandibular differences showed, significant increase in the treatment groups compared to control group. In both treatment groups significant decrease was observed in ANB, overjet, molar relation, mandibular incisor extrusion compared to control group. There was a significant differences between the treatment groups only in maxillary depth.
