ABSTRACT
In dental practice, acrylic resin base appliances should be kept in varions chemical disinfecting solutions, before and after laboratory stage and also after application to the patient, against cross-contamination. This study evalutes the effect of various disinfecting solutions on the surface hardness of acrylic resin denture base materials. The results suggest that keeping acrylic resin samples in disinfecting solutions for one hour and for one week produces statistically significant changes on surface hardness value.
