ABSTRACT
A 32 years old female patient with skeletal Class II malocclusion, deep overbite and excessive overjet presented for treatment. Treatment plan consisted of distalization of maxillary molars, intrusion and retraction of maxillary incisors and intrusion of mandibular incisors. Subapical corticotomy was used to facilitate maxillary incisor retraction and intrusion. Correction of excessive overjet was obtained by retraction of the maxillary incisors and proclination of mandibular incisors. Maxillary and mandibular incisor intrusion and mandibular incisor proclination contributed to the correction of the deep overbite. Total active treatment time was 25 months. In this report, subapical corticotomy as a supporting treatment modality for adult orthodontics is presented.
