ABSTRACT
Craniofacial imaging techniques is a very important aspect of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. The discovery of x-rays by Roentgen revolutionized medicine and dentistry. Diagnostic methods and treatment planning has evolved due to the development in imaging techniques since then. In this review the evolution of craniofacial imaging in orthodontics, limitations of current methods and future developments are discussed. The advances in imaging are likely to enhance the accuracy and reliability of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
