ABSTRACT

Rapid maxillary expansion was utilized in 14 individuals 9 of them were girls and 5 of them were boys. Average age of the treatment sample was 11.6 years and the age range was 10.2 to 13.6 years. Initial and final anteroposterior x-rays were taken between 6 months interval and frontal cephalometric analysis was then performed on 28 tracings. As a resuit, it was concluded that tranversal effects of the RME was observed overall facial skeleton however the mid and lower portion of the face was predominantly influenced.
