ABSTRACT

The acrylic base removable appliances may lead to oral mucosa irritations in respect to their chemical composition and self-curing characteristics. This study is aimed at finding the effects of various bacteria on acri-lic disks which are improvising orthodontic appliances processed by different curing methods. Acrilic disks are self-cured under with or without pressure are embedded in petri cups containing Candida albicans and staphllococcus aureus are compared in two experiments in terms of bacterial proliferation in conclusion, no significant change is observed between the two applied curing technique.
