ABSTRACT

10 skeletal class III patients treated with mandibular set-back surgery and 10 skeletal class III patients treated with maxillary advancement and/or impaction with mandibular set back surgery were evaluated for this study. Pretreatment and posttreatment lateral cephalograms were used to evaluate the change in divine proportions. Results show that the combined surgeries change facial proportions more significantly, but these changes may not always be towards the golden section and in addition an apprpriate genioplasty would help to reach the golden ratios.
